Organization Overview

The Kawartha Baseball Association (KBA) is a regional initiative dedicated to supporting, unifying, and advancing all bat-and-ball sports across the Kawartha Lakes and surrounding communities; including youth baseball, girls’ fast-pitch softball, co-ed softball, and adult recreational slo-pitch.

Our mission is to empower grassroots organizations, strengthen youth engagement for all genders and skill levels, and build a clear and inclusive development pathway from introductory house-league participation to advanced competition and lifelong recreational play.

To give each sport a strong identity while maintaining regional alignment, KBA will launch dedicated platforms such as KawarthaBaseball.com and KawarthaSoftball.com, ensuring clarity for families and providing modern communication, scheduling, and development tools.

KBA serves as both a connector and catalyst, aligning VBBA, Kawartha Cubs, the Kawartha Lakers Girls Softball Association, local slo-pitch leagues, and municipal partners to build a healthier, more coordinated regional system.

Vision

To make the Kawartha Lakes a recognized hub for baseball, softball, and all bat-and-ball sports, where every child, youth, and adult has an equal opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a supportive, community-first environment.

Mission

To unify, develop, and elevate the bat-and-ball ecosystem across the Kawartha region by combining collaboration, shared resources, mentorship, and modern facility development - ensuring long-term sustainability and accessible pathways for athletes of every age and ability.

Regional Landscape & Rationale for Unification

The Kawartha region benefits from several strong but independent baseball and softball organizations. While each contributes significantly to athlete development, families often face fragmented pathways, inconsistent resources, and limited access to year-round training.

KBA aims to unify these efforts into one coordinated, inclusive regional structure, ensuring consistent development standards, improved communication, and modern support for all levels of play.

Victoria-Brock Baseball Association (VBBA)

VBBA effectively connects multiple house-league communities across western Kawartha Lakes and Brock Township. This model demonstrates how unified grassroots governance can provide structure and stability. KBA builds on this by adding stronger development tools, consistent standards, and long-term planning that spans both baseball and softball.

Kawartha Cubs (Rep / Competitive Baseball)

The Cubs serve as the region’s established representative program. Their alignment with the Eastern Ontario Baseball Association highlights the region’s competitive potential. Under KBA, the Cubs become one of several advancement opportunities within an inclusive, multi-sport pathway.
